EUROPE ROAD TRIP — DAY 7 (OF 19)
We left Schwangau and headed northwest, driving about 130 km (because who’s counting?) through some seriously jaw-dropping mountain scenery to reach Munich. Now, here’s the kicker – we were only there for 1.5 hours (talk about a speed tour or Munich). Yep, just a pit stop on our way to Prague. But hey, we made the most of it! Despite the rain, we squeezed in a quick walk around and – because priorities – a visit to the Hofbräuhaus. Because no trip to Munich is complete without some beer, am I right?
YOU'VE GOTTA SEE...
VIKTUALIENMARKT
Munich’s daily outdoor farmers market. It’s like a foodie's paradise with fresh fruits, veggies, breads, meats, cheeses, pastries, and flowers. The displays are almost too pretty to eat. Oh, and did I mention the beer gardens? Locals and tourists alike are sipping beers at 10 AM. If you're not having a beer before noon, are you even in Munich?

FRAUENKIRCHE
Right behind Marienplatz is the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), aka Munich’s city cathedral. Sure, it’s not the flashiest church in Germany, but it’s got its own charm. The coolest part? The devil’s footprint by the door. Legend has it, the devil stamped his foot in rage because he couldn’t steal souls in this church. Tough break, dude.

HEILIGGEISTKIRCHE
While trying to find the Hofbräuhaus, we stumbled across a sign that said "Garden of Eden." Intrigued? So were we. Turns out, inside the Heiliggeistkirche (Church of the Holy Ghost), there’s a whole garden art installation. Never seen a church turned into a garden before! This quirky exhibit was the brainchild of German artist Michael Pendry. It’s temporary, but definitely one of the more unique things I’ve seen in a church.

HOFBRÄUHAUS
Finally! The holy grail of Munich: Hofbräuhaus. We took a few photos, soaked in the chaotic beer hall energy, and dipped out. Mission accomplished. I can now say I’ve been to the Hofbräuhaus, where beer flows like water, and tourists flock like pigeons.

JULIET STATUE
On the way back to the car (because, of course, we got lost), we stumbled upon a statue of Juliet – yes, like that Juliet – it's a twin to the one in Verona, right by the Old Town Hall. Apparently, if you’re unlucky in love, you rub her right boob and true love will come your way. Seriously, that's the tradition. Didn’t try it, but who m I to argue with superstition?
